DR. EMILY BROWN

Emily Brown was born and raised in Winthrop, WA, which is a small community connected by outdoor recreation much like that of Crested Butte. At an early age Emily grew to love the outdoors and developed into a competitive Alpine ski racer moving her to Steamboat Springs, CO for high school. Injuries she encountered during her ski racing career inspired her to become a physical therapist. She experienced firsthand how beneficial and necessary the rehabilitation process is in order to quickly return to competition.

Emily received her Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Utah in 2013. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Since graduation, Emily has enjoyed continuing to advance her treatment techniques training with the Institute of Physical Art which teaches Functional Manual Therapy. She enjoys working with patients managing both orthopedic and neurological conditions. Recently, she has enjoyed enhancing her knowledge base in pelvic health and pre- and post-natal care. Additionally, Emily is a medical team member of the United States Ski and Snowboard Team and is occasionally invited to travel with the team. 

When Emily is not treating patients, you will likely find her out in the local backcountry skiing, biking or hiking with her husband Dylan, son Milo, and dog Teo. Her favorite part of her job is running into her patients out on the trails in the valley once they’ve recuperated from their ailments.
